Memorial Park is the largest and oldest park in the city of Jasper, AL, but thanks to a recent renovation, the park's age doesn't show. The park includes a playground, walking trail, pond, pavilion, athletic fields, gym, and a natatorium with an indoor and outdoor pool.
This indoor swimming pool and recreation center opens early and offers adult classes for both water and land activities including abdominal exercise, aquafit, arthritis therapy, hydro-motion, waterworks, stretch and glow, yoga, belly dancing, tai chi, line dancing, ab works, and firm body boot camp.
In-water classes are also offered for children starting at six months old. The natatorium is home of the Jasper Sharks, a swim team that has programs for children as young as 5 years old. A Special Olympics program is offered for children 8 years and older. In addition, the natatorium provides an after-school program, summer camp (including fun activities such as fishing and bowling) and art classes to entertain the youngsters.
