Panama City may be a seaside paradise, but the city offers much more than just its famous beaches.

Situated in the sunny state of Florida, Panama holds many ways to enjoy the day outside. Camp Helen State Park is open for exploration, and is surrounded on three sides by the Gulf of Mexico, Phillips Inlet, and Lake Powell. On the Park's 18.5 acres are rare shorebirds, freshwater wetlands, coastal dunes, a salt marsh and more. Along the same lines, St. Andrews State Park stretches over one and half miles of beach by the Gulf of Mexico and Grand Lagoon. Known for its pearly white sand and emerald green water, the Park also offers numerous water activities like scuba diving, kayaking and snorkeling. The Park is also home to the famous Shell Island, a 700-acre wildlife sanctuary island.

There's plenty of excitement to be found as well. Family fun spots include Barnacle Bay, a miniature golf course, and Russell-Fields Pier, open year-round for fishing. There's also ZooWorld Zoological and Botanical Park, which holds approximately 300 animals in its beautiful garden setting.

It's ocean location gives Panama City of wealth of water sports to enjoy. Lagoon Pontoons rents pontoon boats for the day while Barley's Bike Rentals offers all kinds of bikes for exploring Panama. It also rents out kayaks for anyone who would rather explore the beach by ocean. Others take to the air for a true view of the city. Panhandle Helicopter provides air tours of Panama City for varying lengths of time. For a day of pure fun, Aquatic Adventures provides waverunners, snorkeling and parasailing for locals and visitors alike to take full advantage of all the water has to offer.
