The best neighborhoods in Idaho Falls offer residents a dynamic range of living options, affordable houses and access to thriving shopping districts. It’s easy to see that Greater Idaho Falls has a lot going for it. The city is among the top 10 emerging metropolitan areas in America, has a cost of living about 6 percent lower than the U.S. average, and there is little traffic on the interstate and most highways. Property taxes are low, and there is plenty of outdoor recreation.

There are also many new buildings under construction, and homes have a median price of $165,000. With all that in mind, here are four attractive neighborhoods in the Greater Idaho Falls area:

The Village

Situated in the western portion of Idaho Falls, home prices in The Village range from $160,000 to $225,000, and buyers get plenty of bang for their buck. For example, homebuyers at $225,000 can get up to a 3,400-square-foot house with six bedrooms and three bathrooms. At the other end of the price spectrum, homes going for $160,000 measure about 2,600 square feet and are available in two- and three-bedroom models. Parks and shopping opportunities also grace the immediate area.

Rose Nielsen

On the east side of Idaho Falls is Rose Nielsen subdivision, a neighborhood that was established during three decades starting in the 1960s. The neighborhood’s large geographic area spans from 17th Street on the north to Sunnyside on the south, and there are hundreds of residential homes along the way. Houses are well maintained and show character with multiple design patterns, and prices range from $250,000 to $500,000. The value and size of the homes increase as you proceed south in the subdivision, and Rose Nielsen provides proximity to health-care services and shopping centers that are both immediately to the east.

Comore Loma

Long-standing local company Skidmore Development provided the planning for Comore Loma, a scenic subdivision in Greater Idaho Falls. Spanning a large area along mountainous foothills in the city of Ammon, Comore Loma hosts several homes that all offer beautiful views. Lot sizes range from 1.5 acres to 7 acres, and house prices are as low as $250,000 and as high as $1 million. Several different architectural designs make up the home options in Comore Loma.
