Take a trip to Hamilton, and you’ll quickly notice that its business scene is thriving. From indoor vertical farming to plastics processing and vehicle suspension companies, opportunity awaits innovators of all kinds in this community – and they are finding success.

Helping fuel these businesses are Hamilton’s numerous assets, including a skilled workforce strengthened by graduates from the region’s technical schools and universities, low-cost utilities and proximity to major markets.

These advantages have attracted national and international companies, such as indoor vertical farming company 80 Acres Farms, German automotive supplier thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America and plastics innovator iMFLUX.

Making Moves

All of these businesses are making moves in the region, as thyssenkrupp Bilstein, known for its high-tech solutions in chassis engineering, has added hundreds of jobs to the area in recent years. 80 Acres Farms is growing quality crops in thousands of square feet of indoor controlled environment agriculture space.

Meanwhile, iMFLUX is disrupting the plastics industry, using a proprietary, low-pressure injection molding control system known as the Green Curve.

“The city of Hamilton has been a fantastic partner and very supportive of the needs of a small and rapidly evolving startup,†says Mary Wagner, CEO of iMFLUX. “They have supported unique customer visits, worked with us on recruiting to attract top talent and been insightful on how to support those employees who moved from across the country to live and work in this community.”
