Education, Health, Hospitality, Finance, Government & Retail

The education sector is well-regarded and well-represented in Danville-Boyle County, in large part due to the Boyle County School District, Centre College, the Danville Independent School District and the Kentucky School for the Deaf. Ephraim McDowell Health provides quality health care for residents. One of the top banks in the region is Farmers National Bank.

In the government sector, several people are employed at Boyle County Fiscal Court, the City of Danville and Northpoint Training Center, while major retail employers include The Kroger Company and Walmart Supercenter. Also adding to the economic strength of Danville-Boyle County is Ridgefield Shopping Center, located along the South Danville Bypass and featuring national tenants such as AT&T, Hobby Lobby, Rack Room Shoes, TJ Maxx, Tractor Supply and Anytime Workout.

A new Holiday Inn Express opened in January 2017 on the South Danville Bypass, complete with 76 rooms and 2,000 square feet of conference space. The hotel employs 25 people.
