#3. Clinton

They start teaching Republican principles early in Clinton, Utah. Many Clinton teens are active in the local Teenage Republicans group, which is affiliated with the Davis County Republican Party. Voters here strongly support conservative values and have rarely backed Democratic candidates. Most residents oppose same-sex marriage, abortion and the Affordable Care Act. In 1964, Lyndon Johnson lost the popular vote by just half a percent. That’s the closest a Democratic presidential candidate has come to a win in the Clinton area in half a century.

Representing Utah’s 1st Congressional District, which includes Clinton, is Rob Bishop, who according to GovTrack is a far-right Republican. Bishop, a state legislator for 16 years, served two terms as state chairman of the Republican Party and was Majority Leader and Speaker of the House. He is currently serving his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
