Martinsville residents are shaping up with the Healthy Community Challenge.
The Healthy Community Challenge is an annual 12-week health and fitness regimen that's part of a health and wellness initiative introduced by a number of local organizations. Spencer-Penn Centre Continues Education through Events
The Spencer-Penn Centre has become an icon in the city of Spencer. Built in 1910, the Centre has played a revolving role in the history of the city, starting with schoolhouse.
Originally operating as a school for grades 1-7 and containing only three rooms, the Centre was upgraded in 1926 to its current state, which included a new brick building with five classrooms and an auditorium. The original wooden structure became the first public high school in the community.
