Ann Arbor’s Main Street was named one of Travel & Leisure’s Greatest Main Streets in America, and it’s clear why the downtown district has gained national attention.

An economic center since Ann Arbor was designed in 1824, South Main Street is a great spot to go for a stroll, grab a bite or brew, and browse the many shops. Art galleries are scattered throughout the area, and you can even spot art outside of the downtown’s buildings. Fairy doors, miniature portals said to be the gateway for Ann Arbor’s tiny magical residents, are interspersed throughout downtown and delight believers of all ages.
