Featuring some of the most recognizable art installations in the country, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden sits on 11 acres across from the Walker Art Center. The garden is one of the largest urban sculpture gardens in the country and has 40 permanent installations as well as temporary pieces.

The most recognizable work and centerpiece is the whimsical Spoonbridge and Cherry. Designed by husband and wife Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, the sculpture is about 7,000 pounds and a beloved Minneapolis icon.

Another great thing about visiting the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is the price of admission; it’s free. Who says great art can only be seen in a museum?
