The medical industry provides healthy options for residents in Muskogee and other parts of eastern Oklahoma, with several facilities and top-notch care available. Here are some examples:
VA Medical Center
Founded in 1923, the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Muskogee offers care for more than 45,000 veterans in 25 counties in eastern Oklahoma. Named for World War II veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Jack C. Montgomery, the center's inpatient and outpatient medical programs include cardiology, dentistry, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, hospice and palliative care, nephrology, neurology, oncology, optometry, orthopedics, pharmacy, polytrauma, prosthetics, psychiatric care, pulmonology, radiology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation, surgery, telehealth, urology and visual impairment. A women's department offers gynecology, mammography and menopause treatment.
The hospital’s motto is “Excellence Starts Here,” and besides the main facility in Muskogee it maintains outpatient clinics in Tulsa, Hartshorne and Vinita.
EASTAR Health System
With 320 total beds at its main campus on Rockefeller Drive and its east campus on North Main Street, EASTAR Health System can treat almost any medical condition. The two EASTAR facilities (formerly known as Muskogee Regional Medical Center and Muskogee Community Hospital) are fully accredited by The Joint Commission.
EASTAR has a nationally accredited cancer program, a Level III trauma center and a primary stroke center, and the system has also launched a Center for Obesity Treatment. An EASTAR Women and Children’s Center is now headquartered at the North Main Street east campus, with five labor-delivery and recovery rooms on the second floor and 12 postpartum rooms on the third floor. Future plans are for the center to be equipped with a Level 2B neonatal unit.
Grace Living Centers
A wide range of personal and rehabilitative services are available at Grace Living Centers, for senior citizens who have experienced serious injury, illness, surgical complications or can no longer take care of themselves. The staff provides compassionate and dignified assistance to residents who are focused on eventually returning to their own homes and residents who now call Grace Living Center their permanent home. Also on site is Bridges at Grace Living Centers for residents who need advanced care.
Cardiology Clinic of Muskogee
Since 1979, Cardiology Clinic of Muskogee has treated patients with minor illnesses or injuries as well as more serious and complex health issues. A convenient walk-in clinic is open five days a week, and onsite diagnostic testing services include general X-ray, bone densitometry X-ray, cardiac testing and rehabilitation, general nuclear testing, and laboratory services.
Medical specialties include cardiology, endocrinology, family medicine, internal medicine, oncology, rheumatology and sleep disorder medicine. CCOM also operates another diagnostic testing and imaging center in Muskogee, a pediatrics clinic in Muskogee, and a satellite clinic in Eufaula.
