About Roanoke Rapids, NC
Roanoke Rapids is in the northeastern section of the state, close to the Virginia border. The city has a number of historical sites including Historic Halifax, which was the site of the Fourth Provincial Congress. Roanoke Rapids also has an interesting array of historic buildings, but the county's biggest claim to fame is Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park, which has the world’s largest collection of rare and endangered waterfowl.
