Zentner's Daughter Steak House is San Angelo Favorite

When San Angelo residents think of steak, many think of Zentner's Daughter Steak House. The eatery, open since 1974, is widely known for its T-bones, garlic-flavored sirloins and family atmosphere. Owner Betty Zentner has restaurants in her blood. Her father, John Zentner, started cooking for a living as early as 1918 and went on to run some of the greatest steak houses in Texas. When Betty opened John Zentner's Daughter in San Angelo, Dad was there to make sure great steaks and hospitality were there for all patrons. Today, Betty and her husband Bernay Sheffield make sure that the Zentner Tradition continues at the restaurant that has been mentioned in publications including Southern Living, Money Magazine and Texas Monthly. Most recently, Betty was one of the first female restaurant owners to earn the great honor of being inducted into the Texas Restaurant Association's Hall of Fame. Below is the short film of her story that was shown at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. For more information about Zentner's Daughter Steak House, visit www.zentnersdaughter.com.
