Drag Boat Event Showdown in San Angelo Draws Thousands

Boats going 100 mph? It's a common sight at the Showdown in San Angelo drag boat races that now occur in late June on Lake Nasworthy. The event is sponsored by the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce and sanctioned by the Southern Drag Boat Association, which stages races every summer in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
