San Marcos is notable for its young population, due in large part to its central location in a region that features several major universities. A 1909 copper-domed courthouse anchors a traditional Texas-style town square, but tucked behind those centuries-old facades are nightclubs, piano bars, restaurants, funky cafes and interesting shops.
