Though it’s just 20 minutes from Nashville and many major attractions like the Tennessee Titans, Music Row and a collection of restaurants and honky tonks, Smyrna, TN offers residents many reasons to stay in town when it comes to finding things to do. Here’s a look at some of the best entertainment options in Smyrna.

 

Play Outdoors

Smyrna’s 11 parks provide opportunities for men, women and children to play softball, baseball, soccer and a variety of other sports. The city’s greenway and trail system offers more than 12 miles of walkable, bikeable paths for residents to stretch their legs and enjoy. The Gregory Mill Park Splash Pad is a great way for families to cool off during warm summer months. The city is also surrounded by hiking trails and located near a pair of lakes with excellent opportunities to fish and boat. Smyrna is also home to an 18-hole municipal golf course. 

Eat Out

Restaurants in Smyrna cover nearly every type of food you can imagine. There are fantastic places to enjoy Mexican, Italian, Chinese and good old American cuisine. Among the most popular and unique restaurants in Smyrna is the Omni Hut, a Polynesian restaurant know for it’s grilled dishes and colorful atmosphere. 

Explore History

Smyrna is home to the Sam Davis Home and Plantation, a great place to learn about the Civil War and experience events like the annual Victorian Christmas party or vintage baseball games. Davis was a young Confederate who was captured by Federal troops and refused to provide information vowing, “I would die a thousand deaths before I would betray a friend.” He was hanged on Nov. 27, 1863.

Shop Till you Drop

Smyrna Town Centre features a variety of shops and places to explore. The city features a collection of small mom and pop stores offering a range of products. Just 15 minutes away is The Avenue Murfreesboro, which is home to 90 stores and restaurants. About 20 minutes away is Opry Mills, the state’s largest outlet and retail center.
