Corpus Christi combines local-shop charm with big-name convenience, making it a prime city to do some serious shopping. Here are a few must-sees in the Corpus Christi shopping scene:
Downtown Head to the heart of the city for a mix of stores that are one-of-a-kind and sure to surprise. Cute and creative Water Street Market is the spot to find local shops. For clothes and creative gifts, check out Eclectique Gifts & More. This funky little shop offers its spin on gifts, jewelry from local artists, art pieces and even wine. If you'd rather browse through records, take a look in Surf Club Records. The store features music from mostly Texas artists, and sells some prime beachwear for added effect. For more of the eclectic Water Street feel, make a stop in the Yin Yang Fandango and The Tango Tea Room. The “earthstore” offers home décor items, clothing and jewelry, while the adjacent Tea Room serves up vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Lamar Park Just outside of downtown lies the Lamar Park shopping center. Only three blocks separate the center and its scattering of stores from the bayfront. Those stores range from high-end to local gems. On the local side, Pillar Fashion and Folk Art provides imported home accents, natural fiber clothing and accessories. Not your style? No problem. Lamar Park offers plenty to meet your fashion needs. High-end boutiques such as Julian Gold and Market Boutique combined with well-known retailers like Talbots and Ann Taylor Loft add to the Park's superior shopping services. La Palmera The La Palmera mall makes shopping a cinch in Corpus Christi. With anchor stores like Dillard's, JCPenney and Macy's, the mall covers its major bases while offering an array of smaller speciality stores as well. Clothing stores include New York & Company and Francesca's Collections, and many other stores focus on home furnishings, accessories and entertainment.
