Ephraim McDowell Health

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center is a nonprofit, 222-bed hospital in downtown Danville that is recognized as one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the nation as well as a Top Performer by The Joint Commission. The Commission has also awarded the hospital Gold Seals of Approval for total hip and total knee replacement as well as spinal surgeries.

At the Ephraim McDowell Heart & Vascular Institute, its team of board-certified cardiologists provides some of the most sophisticated cardiac and arterial care available in the state. Other components of the Ephraim McDowell Health system include the OrthoSpineCenter that features a rehabilitation gym and a rehabilitation apartment, and a Diabetes & Endocrinology Center that provides individualized treatment and education programs.

In addition, McDowell Wellness Center is a physical fitness and rehabilitation center that offers the latest in fitness equipment, an aerobics studio and a six-lane indoor pool. The center encourages Danville-Boyle County residents to make time for exercise with its Get Moving initiative that occurs over 10 weeks every spring.

Danville is also home to the Ephraim McDowell Commonwealth Cancer Center, which allows individuals challenged by a cancer diagnosis to remain close to home for treatment. The center aligns radiation oncology (21st Century Radiation Oncology), medical oncology and a variety of support services at one easily accessible location.
